Currently, the site setting prioritize_username_in_ux allows administrators to display full names instead of usernames in the main UI (e.g., in the post stream and user cards). However, this setting does not appear to affect the notification menu (the bell icon).
In the notification menu, actions such as replies, likes, and system notifications still display the @usernameformat, even when full names are prioritized elsewhere on the site.

            Hi,
No matter the browser I use, I can’t access a community I made in May. I haven’t accessed it since then. I can see the community on id.discourse.com but I can’t access it by its xyz.discourse.group url. Instead I get a connection error that the URL can’t be resolved. I checked my emails and used the link from the initial set up email that I received and it still doesn’t work. We have a situation where a long term volunteer is stepping down. Over several years in countless conversations they are mentioned as the person to talk to about X.
I realize now that we probably should have originally created a group for this role and always mentioned the group as who to contact.
My concern is that now this ex-volunteer will have to field messages regarding their old role. We’ve consolidated chat notification settings into the main Notifications preferences page, where they belong.
Previously, if you wanted to control how you were notified about chat messages, you had to navigate to a separate Chat preferences tab, disconnected from all your other notification controls. On top of that, push notification delivery for chat was gated by a standalone toggle (only_chat_push_notifications), making it easy to miss and confusing to reason about.

We’ve now reworked image captioning so captions can be generated in the background for post images, stored separately from the post raw (the actual content that the author wrote stays as-is), and show up in where they’re useful: for screen readers, search, and image lightboxes.

            Hello

There is an issue with the translation/localization feature for Custom Sidebar Sections/Links.
If a custom sidebar section or link is created while the site’s default locale setting is set to Language A (e.g., English), but the site’s default locale is later changed to Language B (e.g., Hungarian), the existing custom sidebar records do not adapt to the new default locale.
