I was recently doing some cleanup of old files and infrastructure that I no longer needed after running this forum for a while.
I went through a migration of S3 a couple times and I just recently discovered my upload and email logs are still being uploaded to the first S3 ever configured.
I cannot find in the database where this is declared. My app.yml doesn’t point to aws (the first S3) at all.
Where can I find this in the database?

I just had someone sign up for my discourse while on the phone with them, and she could not find the sign up button. I hadn’t realized this before, but on narrow screens (eg on mobile phones held vertically) the sign up button is not shown next to the log in button. When the phone is held horizontally, the sign up button appears again.
The sign up link is displayed on the login screen, but she did not get that far and says she would have given up. The Data Explorer plugin lets you dive deep into your community’s data with custom queries. It’s now easier to visualize the results of those queries, thanks to a few recent updates that expand the plugin’s charting capabilities.
You’ll now see graphs on a wider range of query results, and we’ll automatically pick the right chart type based on the shape of the data.

To pin topics in bulk:

Click the Bulk Select icon in the topic list.
Select the topics you want to pin.
Open the Bulk Actions menu.
Click Pin.

Choose whether you want to pin to the category or globally, select a timeframe, and click the corresponding Pin topics button. (You can still only have one banner topic at a time, so that option isn’t available in bulk actions.)

We’ve made it easier to setup category approval requirements which control who needs to get staff approval before their topic and / or reply can be posted. By making this system more flexible, we hope to reduce any unnecessary work for your community team while keeping desired safeguards in place.
Previously, this was an all-or-nothing setting — you had to require approval for everyone or no one. Now, you can also require approval for new topics or new replies for:

I don’t know if our AssociationSphere is live yet (our website is, though), but several of our staff have been testing our AssociationSphere forum. We set our email preferences, both in Discourse, and also directly in our own forum, to receive notifications every time there is a new post or we are mentioned or tagged. Still, none of us are receiving emails. Is this because our website is live, but our AssociationSphere is maybe not “live” yet? Not sure what is going on.

Our site keeps full chat history, which has been accumulating for a long time now. Recently I had an issue where users were complaining about how long the chat button takes to load or if it even shows up at all! The behaviour also seemed inconsistent between users.
I think I found the issue with the help of Claude Code and it may affect all sites. Below is a report compiled of the issue. It might have implications for load on the entire site since the problem query is triggered so...

Chat Pitchfork timeouts: replies silently create threads and auto-tracking bloats over time

Communiteq Power Tools plugin

How to install plugins in Discourse

Features
Over the years, we’ve built a large number of small (often private) plugins to implement targeted tweaks for our clients. This plugin consolidates those into a single, maintained package.

            Hi all!
Ever since I got involved in emotional well-being and mental health efforts (ERGs) in BigTech some years ago, I’ve been interested in what might be pretty niche (inter)personal challenges. And more recently, as a moderator in a Discourse forum, I’ve also come across similar questions/thoughts. Let’s call it “episodic unwellness for whatever reason”.
If some John Doe has good days and bad days, and has a habit of embarrassing themselves on bad days and then...

For users with episodic unwellness: Post Approval by "future self" or "trusted friends"?

Several improvements could be done on the mobile reviewable pages

The elements in the “header” are not aligned:
“Post flagged as spam”, , “Flag approved”, “2h”
There are a lot of discrepancies in the CSS used here. The container .review-item__header has a defined align rule: align-items: start; but each child has its own align-self rule, contradicting the parent rule and resulting in misaligned items.

There’s no right margin after the “2h”

A topic title can be long and will take a lot of vertical space; this could be...

Several improvements could be done on the mobile reviewable pages
